SmartSenior: the best solutions for our environment in old age.

SmartSenior stands for ideas that make life easier and safer. For example, a wristband which measures a person's vital signs and transmits them to a service center, irrespective for the person's location. Or an emergency assisant in a car which, in the event of a stroke, automatically switches to autonomous driving mode and carries out a safe emergency stop.

In the SmartSenior research project, new technologies are developed, tested and brought to market readiness. The aim of the project is to create a platform of tailored infrastructure solutions, that is viable for the future, upon which a great many complementary applications and services can be built.

The environments addressed by the technological projects of SmartSenior are described in more detail in the »scenarios«. The aim is to provide well-considered solutions for the entire environment surrounding of the senior citizen. Concrete project results, such as aids that have proven themselves in practice, can be found under »results«.
